We are just as excited as you are to make our plant selections and get things underway in our gardens! When you take your annual plants and hanging baskets home early in the season before it’s actually time to plant, some precautions are necessary to keep your plants looking as beautiful as when you brought them home.

Your plants have been warm and snuggly growing in our greenhouses, so it’s important to slowly acclimate them (“harden them off”) to their new outdoor environment!  When we have a sunny and warm day with calm winds, you can bring them outdoors a few hours a day until the temperatures are consistently warm.  You can fertilize them once a week, and you’ll want to give a little more attention to watering them – since they’ll be inside off and on and may not dry out as quickly.

With your tender loving care, the plants will be happy, and so will YOU!
